Broken. That's how I turned up for my first personal training session at TA1 with Ben. Apart from a spate of hamstring tears I thought I wasn't in bad shape. Although assessment told that I'd been kidding myself and a few quick exercises weren't going to resolve my long-standing injuries.
The atmosphere working with Ben is incredibly friendly. The exercise is fantastically varied - it never feels like the grunt work that I've come across with other personal trainers. Ben takes a complete and personalized approach which has worked brilliantly for me - I am back sprinting after a few months. Ben's been instrumental at getting me back to fitness and I would strongly recommend him for any kind of fitness goal. It doesn't matter if you're a serious pro athlete or someone looking to work a little more exercise into your weekly routine. Give TA1 Performance a try and you will not regret it.

Ben is absolutely great, so encouraging and obviously knows his stuff. He deals with all ability levels brilliantly, and... the training, but more importantly his attitude towards you, makes a real difference. I really enjoy Ben's strength and conditioning sessions. They are well planned, different each week, he throws in elements which are specific to the sport we play and importantly makes them really fun. I'd happily recommend to others.
Ben adapts each session depending on what you need. We never do the same exercises from one session to the next yet he still manages to target the muscles that need working. He is managing to improve my squash ....I’d always believed in old dogs and new tricks!
I am a busy mum of three children aged 5, 13 & 15 and although I've always enjoyed doing some sort of exercise and tried to fit it into my life, it's been difficult. I also couldn't quite find what I was looking for in terms of what I consider a good workout that suits me. Core training is something I've always believed in and when my son started his cricket coaching and S&C with you and I saw your gym, I thought it may just be what I've been looking for.
I started my first personal training session with Ben in January and have been coming to you regularly for an hour, twice weekly for the past six months. I am delighted with my new energy levels; my core strength has improved 100%; I have definition and tone in my arms, legs, bottom and tummy; my general health has improved (I haven't picked up any bugs that the kids have brought home) and I've noticed a vast improvement in my fitness levels and my ability to control my own stress. I wasn't aiming to lose too much weight, but wanted to see tone and inch loss and I've not been disappointed - I'm now a dress size 8, which I was before I had my first child and never thought I would ever be again!
The sessions are always varied, interesting and fun. He sets them at a pace that I can manage, pushing me a little further each time to give me the confidence to see what I'm capable of and thus setting me a little challenge without it becoming too overwhelming. You always have a professional attitude, your gym is spotlessly clean and organised and you're constantly updating your equipment. I can definitely recommend you as a Personal Trainer for anyone at any age who is serious and passionate about their health and fitness in terms of core training, strength and conditioning and nutritional advice.
I am delighted with the results that I have achieved with your help at the Personal Training sessions, have lost two 2.5 stones in just over 4 months and at least 2 dress sizes. When I came along to my first session in February, I was very apprehensive, unfit, overweight and stressed but you quickly made me feel at ease and have given me back my confidence to exercise again. The eating plan and nutritional advice have been very helpful and your support with this has been excellent. Every session is different and very hard work but lots of fun and a brilliant overall workout, my fitness, strength and energy levels have soared and I feel much healthier and able to cope with stressful work and life situations.
